5 Great Apps for Jira & Confluence…

Every month in our newsletter, we do an “Atlassian App Spotlight of the Month.” This month, we thought we’d change it up a bit and feature not one, but five of our absolute favorite apps for the Atlassian toolset…

1 & 2. Arsenale Dataplane & EazyBI – We all know that the out-of-the-box reporting in Jira is less than stellar. These are our two favorite reporting apps, and they’re both incredibly valuable in their own way. Dataplane is a favorite amongst Isosians because of its ease of use. It delivers powerful, intuitive Jira reports and metrics. With this information, managers can view historical trends and transition timing, as well as project and team performance. And then there’s EazyBI, which isunquestionably the most powerful reporting app for Jira. It allows for drag-and-drop creation of custom reports, charts, and dashboard gadgets. It’s a bit more technical than Dataplane, and has a higher learning curve. Isosians use these two apps on a daily basis, and they are both awesome!

3. Auditor for Jira – This handy app tracks all administrative events and writes information about the events to an audit log. This app fills a big hole, because Jira’s native audit log only tracks about 25% of actions. With Auditor for Jira, you’ll know exactly who did what and when…100% of the time.

4. Refined Theme for Jira Service Desk – You can customize your customer-facing service desk portals with this helpful app by using simple editors. You can also use the theme editor to reflect your company brand on your portal. And you can restrict viewing permissions for each site, category and portal.

5. Basalmiq Wireframes for Confluence – Available for both Confluence Cloud and Server (and for Jira, as well…), Balsamiq is a rapid wireframing tool that digitally reproduces the experience of sketching on a whiteboard. With this app, you can easily generate more ideas, write specs faster, co-design in real time, and therefore create better software!

Atlassian and Slack Announce Strategic Partnership

Last week, Atlassian announced some major news…that they will be entering astrategic partnership with Slack, a cloud-based communication tool for teams. What does this mean for Atlassian users? In a nutshell…HipChat and Stride will be discontinued, and Atlassian will provide a migration path to Slack for all their customers.

Here’s the good news…Isos just completed our migration to Slack last weekend, and it was very straightforward and simple! We’re here to answer any questions you might have about this transition. Also, Slack has a different business model from Atlassian, which means the company has a sales team to assist you with license purchasing. If you reach out to us, we can quickly and easily connect you to your Slack salesperson. Just send our sales team an email and we’ll get in touch with you right away.
